Barnoldswick’s covered popup beach in the town centre – sand and seaside feel in the heart of the hills!

August on the Town Square

It’s fifteen years since the first ‘Barlick Beach’ in Barnoldswick. Over the years, the summer event has grown from lasting just a week to a month full of family-friendly activities in the heart of the town.

In 2023, Barnoldswick’s Beach is likely to be open on the Town Square throughout August,  with sand and activities on a daily basis. Dates to be confirmed.

With Barnoldswick Town Square’s popular new vibe as a food court, there will be tables and chairs with a great alfresco feel (although there’ll still be some covered space).

Barlick Beach usually has sand, donkeys and surfing, together with lots of activities for the whole family. There’s a marquee over the sand beach, so seaside style fun can be enjoyed whatever the weather.

The town centre has free parking, free public toilets and baby changing, plus fish and chip shop and cafes offering drinks, meals, ice creams, takeaways and picnic boxes.
